Employer Subsidies in Vending – How Price Groups Work

1 min read

Some companies subsidize drinks or meals from machines. Technically, this works through price groups in the payment system.

An employer subsidy usually works like this: the system recognizes the employee – by card, for example – and assigns them to a price group with a lower price or an allowance of free items. The employer settles the difference with the operator. The company sets the subsidy rules and accounting treatment.

Reports

The system produces reports of subsidized transactions for billing with the operator. Check tax treatment with your accountant.

Where it works

In companies without a full canteen or as a canteen add-on. The page on vending in canteens (publisher's site) covers such setups.
